School time again

I've been MIA when it comes to the internet lately. Sorry but I haven't had time to entrecard drop or anything else for that matter. I even took time away from my work online. All you home school moms know why. I've been preparing for the new school year. The first year of high school and all the record keeping that goes along with it. Boy am I tired and school doesn't even start 'till next week for us.

Are You A MAE?

I don't know about you, but I'm sure my son thinks I belong to this group at least some of the time anyway. I try to be flexible when it comes to some of his interest, but sometimes it's just hard to bend:-)

Blogoholic or Not

Ok, I'm only 69% addicted to blogging. Not too bad. I thought I was going to be much more addicted than that. I'm sure some of you are much worse than I. But on the same token I am blogging at midnight ;-)

Disney Bingo DVD game Fun for the Whole Family

Growing up I lived down the street from a Catholic church that had bingo on a regular basis. I remember one time my mom and I went just to see what it was like. I must have only been seven or eight at the time. I remember think how much fun all those people must have especially with all the toys they had sitting all over their tables and all the bright colors they got to use. I was really young, what was I suppose to think. I had snacks and helped my mom play. As I got older I played Bingo in school for educational purposes. It is an easy game to play, but still quite fun. I should try playing with my kids. Screenlife's Disney Bingo DVD game would be a great addition to all of my families games. We mainly have board games so a DVD game would be a nice change. My daughter enjoys many of the Disney characters too so I know she would like this game. Christmas is not that far away either and Screenlife's Disney Bingo DVD game would be a nice gift that the whole family could enjoy, creating memories for my kids. To purchase Disney Bingo game go to to Amazon.com or Drugstore.com.

Free Reading Test

I found this free reading test that measure your speed and comprehension. It might come in handy for some of you home schoolers. I took a speed reading class in junior high, but it didn't do me any good. I love to read, but I definitely don't do it for sport;-)

Hollywood Love

For more widgets please visit www.yourminis.com

I love a good old fashioned romance movie. I use to watch old Cary Grant movies when I was younger. Hollywood just doesn’t make them like that any more. One of the modern movies I enjoy is Jerry Maguire. Some famous lines came from that movie, “You...complete me” and my favorite “You had me at hello”. After playing Extreme Style by VO5 Ultimate Flirting Championship game I realize that these are just lines for Hollywood. Would they really work in real life? No, not really and they don’t work playing the game either. It’s what happens in between the lines in or everyday lives that counts.

A Book Lovers Dilema

Well it's that time of year again, for me anyway. I've got the clean and get organized fever. School will be starting soon and I know I will not have time then. Cleaning out and throwing out is something I really enjoy, except when it comes to the book case. I just have a real hard time parting with any books. So instead I have a pile sitting in my office. Ok I know that won't work 'cause they are bugging me by not having a home. What's a book loving home schooler to do??

Family Watch Dog looking Out For Us

I signed up for this site a while back when I moved to a new state. It is called Family Watch Dog. I'll warn you now it may be a bit disturbing. The reason is cause they send you emails every time a sex offender moves into your neighborhood. The email takes you to a map near your house and shows exactly where they live. You can even click and it will bring up their address and a picture of them if it is available...scary stuff, but worth knowing. They also will send emails for things like new listings for product recalls. This site is worth signing up for and it is free.

Supercharge It

Several years back I once owned a Pontiac. It was a nice car that my son thought was pretty cool. Pontiacs have unique sound when starting I think anyway. It almost reminds me of a mini race car starting..kinda a rumble. I think that is one of the reasons my son liked it so much. He wanted me to keep it until he could drive. He had already made plans to soup it up some more by putting a pontiac supercharger and mag rims. At superchargerpros you can find all the turbo chargers and parts both new and re manufactured that you will need to customize your car. They have there parts ready to ship today too.

Yuck, Milk

I seen this and thought it was funny since I'm lactose intolerant. The thought of drinking milk just turns my stomach. I sure do miss all the cheese and milk based sauces though. Oh and the milk chocolate, it's just not possible to live without it. I do sneak stuff once in a while with my lactose pills ;-)

Power Steering To Your Door

When I was a teenager my friend had an old Buick. It was a big boat of a car. Don’t quote me on it, but I think it was a “76. Anyway the power steering went out on it and it was so hard to turn that big car. When he would turn the corner we both would pull at the steering wheel and lean in to the curve. Definitely not something that is safe to do and I would never think of letting a car go that long without getting the proper power steering rack and other such parts fixed to drive safely. I don't know what was wrong with it, maybe the steering box went out. If my brother had had the use of the internet and could have order the parts from Power SteeringPros he could have fixed it without a problem. They will ship the parts free right to your door and with a full warranty. If you or someone you know can fix it, image the money that you would save by not paying for over priced parts and labor.

HomeSchoolers Selling Ilegal Stuff on Ebay??

I just tried to list some of the home school materials I had from last school year on Ebay. I barely had time to get the books listed before I got an email stating that they took my listing off and took my fees with it because I was selling teacher editions and keys. From what I'm understanding this is considered illegal on Ebay. They lump it right in with trying to sell drugs and other such illegal stuff. I just can not believe this. I'm not really sure why mine was booted off so quick when I seen some that were listed for the same books for 5 days had managed to stay listed even with the words teacher edition and answer keys right in the heading. Funny thing is I bought all the stuff I was trying to sell on Ebay including the teacher ed/keys. Seems like descrimination against homeschoolers to me.
